I am using the LMC under Linux. I thought it will quiet simple to set it up. But no, it wasn't!So far I know, I am one of three users who uses the LMC under Linux --> great!
All Liscon images are modified Linux images and most of the other customers uses the LMC under Windows, so I can't understand this but ok, we have to accept that.
When you also want to run the LMC under Linux, please be informed and warned that it's not really simple and easy without any support or experience with Linux and LMC. But for the first thing read the documentation on the LISCON-Wiki.
Here are some tips to get it running (from my experiences):
-install a mysql database-create a database for the lmc
-grant all privileges on this database for the user what you want to use
-modify the settings.sh in the installation folder of lmc-set the right ROOT for the lmc
-when you have java installed in the Linux machine (it's recommended) comment the line with JAVA_HOME out
-copy the start parameter from the start.sh (it's something like java -Xm...) and start the lmc on the console with an & at the end
This should work for you. When I got more experiences or knows more about some troubleshooting I wil post it here. If you have some more experiences or questions, don't hesitate to contact me.
