SiS 771/671 Video Drivers and Ubuntu 9.04

I upgraded my notebook to Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04. All works fine but not the video card. The whole desktop (xorg) were very slowly, like a slowmotion in a movie. After searching in the internet for some minutes I found a good, quick and easy solution.

You just have to download the new driver, it's a beta version i know, but it works and install the driver, reboot the system and enjoy the working X.

My experiences with DiTech...

... the Computer shop.

It tooks time to bring me on a palm but now I am on it. I ordered a lot of stuff from this shop in the passt (sound systems, notebooks, wireless stuff, and so on) and I had my troubles with this shop, but I was a good man forgot this stupid things and gave them a new chance.

Piss off, nothing changed! :-|

Here are my stories for you to know what a shop this is...

-Notebooks
I ordered 2 notebooks and they were exactly the same. Both of them had also the same failure - pixel failure (only 3 -> this was too less for a warranty exchange - "what a shit conclusion").
Ok I said to me that I will try to get the best for these notebooks and sent one of them to Vienna in the headquarter for the repair and one to the location near by me.
So, then the best thing ever cames. The notebook, what I sent to Vienna, was back after 3 weeks whitout any failures and it was a warranty exchange.
The other notebook, tooks 6 weeks to came back and there were no exchange. They, office stuff, said that there were too less failures. Ok, I thought ... (something very dirty things :-)) and sent the notebook also to the Headquarter.
What do you think did they do? Nothing, but the case of the Screen was scratched! I couldn't believe my eyes.
Now I was really angry and called the headquarter and I was very unfriendly on the phone, but that was my right.
They changed the case, after I sent it back again to them in Vienna and wait again 5 weeks for the notebook.
That wasn't all. They forgot the external power supply for the notebook. So I called them again and asked what a problem did they have?
So I had the same power supply at home and used this one but this was a great story!

-PCI-X Controller
The next stuff what I ordered was a PCI-X SATA II Controller for a server. In case it wasn't storing in the location, they ordered it for me and informed me after 2 days that this hardware is there.
I was happy to get this thing, because I needed it really urgent for the VMware ESXi server. When I was at the shop to pick up the hardware, I got the information from an assistant, that this is not storing. I thought I was in a dream, but no, that was true.

So for me this shop already died. And anyone what will order there something, forget it. Use other shops in the near by you. They are much better in this things and sometimes also in informing you about computers!

Error: The session is not authenticated

I tried to convert the windows host where the VMware vCenter Converter Standalone is installed. When I was starting the convertion I got this error message.
The session is not authenticated

After some trouble shoot I found out that there are too many vmware-converter processes running in the system. I killed all of them and started the Converter again.

Now it worked great!

HowTo: Convert VMs from VMware Server to ESXi

Today I was starting to move my VMs from the VMware Server to the VMware ESXi. There are several ways to do this.

I had to try 2 ways bacause the VMware Converter ColdClone CD won't worked for me so I installed on a Windows VM the VMware vCenter Converter Standalone as server and client. Now I was able to convert all the VMs (in active mode) on my VMware Server to the ESXi over network (via ssh) automatically.

That worked great!
