Today I installed Debian Linux Sarge again, but in unstable mode. In this mode the default xserver will be xorg and not xfree86. xrog supports a lot of ATI graphic cards (also other cards (nvidia and so on)) and mainly the ATI Radeon 9250 chipm that I have.
So I tested a lot of functions in the xorg.conf until the tripplehead worked fine.

On the webpage of Netscape some alternative video- and audio players. We all know the 'Windows Media Player', but this player uses a lot of system resources.
The players listed below use in most instances minimal resources.
Take note, not all listed players support Linux or Mac.

XMMS - X Multi Media System

XMMS is like Winamp. This palyer uses the same skins, same hotkeys and so on as Winamp.
I use this player for mp3s and other audio files. It's a very good thing.

VLC Player - VideoLAN Player (Linux/Windows)

I use this player for all my multimedia things but not for mp3s.
This player supports or have also a firefox, mozilla and netscape plugin for webbased videos and films.

FooBar2000 (Windows only)

Is only available for Windows. But it supports a lot of video formats.

AVS DVD Player (Windows only)

A small and simple video player that also plays dvds.

BS Player (Windows only)

Supports Divx-, DVD-, a lot of Audio formats. You can also download some new skins and so on.

The Core DVD Media Player (Windows only)

This player is like the 'BS Player' but here you can also download some output- and other plugins.

Good morning everybody :-)

Today I did a very good act, I installed linux (debian linux sarge 3.1) on my workstation.
First I was a little bit confused because there was a problem with my graphic cards (2x ATI Radeon 9250 (AGP/PCI)), but a good friend and linux guru helped me to resolve this issue.
The reason was the non compileable linux ati driver (fglrx). But there were some changes on the kernel version 2.6.19.3 since the version 2.6.18 or lower and so the installing script of fglrx couldn't find some important files (like config.h and so on).

Now I have only dual head in linux, because the ati driver dosen't support some dual head cards with analog and digital outputs at this time.

So, I want to say good bye, because I'm very tired ;-)
